Retreat

This weekend, Stephanie S., Stephanie P. K., Kelly and I went on the Woman's Charismatic Catholic retreat again in Pass Christian, MS. It was really great! We went for the Saturday session. We usually go for the whole weekend, but due to circumstances we were only able to go for one day. It is always nice to go on a retreat and relax in the presence of our Lord. It is kind of like "Cleansing the soul" again! Last year, we came home "on fire with the Holy Spirit" as our family and friends described it! This year, we are on fire, but not as "hot!" We figured out that for us, we need to go for the entire weekend to get the full effect.

One special thing did happen while we were there...as we started to say the Rosary, the entire room smelled of roses!! Apparently, and I didn't know this, but that means that our Blessed Mother, Mary, is in the presence of you! It was incredible! It was distinctly the smell of roses and no other flower. I thought this was really an extraordinary thing. The funny part is, is that we don't know if everyone smelled it! I'm working on finding that out.

Well, I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing weekend. Just wanted to share my experience with everyone!

G.U.M. :)

A sad week

On Wednesday when I came home for lunch, I was told by my mom that one of our good friends had passed away suddenly of a massive stroke. This was the mother of my friend Stephanie P. I was in shock, as I still am. Steph and her mom were so very close. I just feel so badly for her. Yesterday were the services. It was a tough day for all. I know Miss Marilyn is in a better place, but it doesn't help those who are left behind. Miss Marilyn was so nice to everyone she came in contact with. Even if you didn't know her well, she would make you feel comfortable. My heart goes out to Steph and her family at this time. I know how hard it's going to be for them, even down the road to come.

Happy 2005

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone's dreams come true this year! I can't believe another year has past us by.

I didn't do much last night...I actually cleaned my room, which needed to be done and it kept me very occupied! I'm trying to start 2005 off on the right foot! We'll see how long it lasts.

We are having a little dinner here today with the typical new year's day food...cabbage, black eyed peas, pork roast, macaroni and cheese, etc. It should be nice.

Happy 2005!!!
