Hello 2006!!

It's a new year--thank God! It was good to say good bye to 2005, if I might say so myself!

We are still living in the FEMA trailer. Ma'Ma' moved into hers in front of her house and Scott has moved in here. We are a bit tight, and we are accumulating more crap everyday in here. Who knows when we will be back in our house? When we first got back to Metairie, I thought we would be in the house by Thanksgiving for sure. When that didn't happen, we thought we'd be in by Christmas. Now we are just hoping to be in by Mardi Gras (Feb. 28). But we'll see about that! Everything is just taking triple the time to come in. It's ridiculous.

Brian and I had a great time in New York! I have posted pictures on my website. (You can view them here.) It was so good to get away from all of this mess, but coming home was a little depressing. I just kept thinking that it was so unfair that my family was still living in a FEMA trailer! However, we are the lucky ones that actually have a FEMA trailer! How ironic. When you go away from here, it is very easy to forget about the crap here. The rest of the world is living normal and have no clue of what we all are still going through. I know I have been guilty of this in the past with other catastrophes around the world.

Anyway, I'm going on a retreat this weekend. I am really looking forward to it! I need it tremendously. Brian is skiing with the guys this week. We both return on Sunday. I have to admit, I miss him this week. He's always away during the week, but knowing he's on vacation and will be gone for so long, it's hard this week.

Well, I'm on Scott's laptop and I'm not too good at using it, so I'm going to sign off for now.
